Walter Hagen, by golf painter Bob Crofut. One of the most compelling and flamboyant golfers of all time Hagen lived up to the phrase "The Roaring Twenties" by living it up on and off the golf course and winning several majors, including four British Opens along the way. Coming from humble beginnings as a caddie from Rochester, NY Hagen went on to become a Pro's Pro and help establish the game as professional a sport and money making venture for PGA pro's in the years to come. Hagen also befriended the caddie corps and once tipped his caddie his entire winnings from one of his British Open win's, a 100 pounds, a large sum in those days.
