The Squire & Bobby: Signed Photo & Letter |
|
|
This signed photograph of Gene Sarazen is accompanied by a letter from Bobby Jones to sportswriter Charles Price. The letter refers to the Shell golf matches that Sarazen and Price worked on together and takes Price to task for the poor quality of the golf courses the matches were played on. Jones does admit a fondness for Price and Sarazen that forces him to watch the matches despite his distaste for the venues. Archivally matted and framed, this classic piece is a tribute to true heros of the game.
Gene Sarazen
The first golfer to win all four majors in a career; Sarazen won seven majors in all, including both the U.S. and British Opens in 1932. He won 38 PGA titles; led the PGA Tour in earnings in 1930 and 1932, was named Associated Press Male Athlete of the Year in 1932, was a charter member of the World Golf Hall of Fame (1974) and won the PGA Tour's first Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996. From 1981 to 1999, he joined Byron Nelson and Sam Snead in hitting a ceremonial tee shot before each Masters tournament. He was credited with making sand wedge popular when he debuted the club at the British Open in 1932. |

The modern gentleman notices the little things, and there is plenty to notice about our Signature Gift Wrap. The paper is a custom-printed navy beaded pinstripe pattern evocative of a classic men's suit fabric. The white satin ribbon is tied in a square knot. But we think it's the enclosure card sealed with hot wax that shows we put as much care into the gift presentation as you put into its selection.
