We were once on a flight with a Mulholland Duffel bag, and before we could pack it into the overheard compartment, a stewardess grabbed it and offered to stow it up front where it wouldn't get scuffed. True story (the bag referred to in the story was actually a Lariat bag, I can only imagine what she would've done had it been an alligator bag - probably would've held it in her lap for the entire flight).
