Art of Shaving Straight Razor Stainless Steel Blade |
According to a Straight Razor manufacturer in Sheffield, England, the first folding or Straight Razor was made in 1680. Today, The Art of Shaving uses the same high quality standards and methods of manufacturing and couples it with the highest quality materials available.
Upon purchase of a Straight Razor in one of our shops, The Art of Shaving offers a complimentary shave by an Art of Shaving master barber who will also give instructions on how to use and maintain the razor at home. When purchased by mail or internet, The Art of Shaving includes a complete set of instructions and maintenance tips. With a Straight Razor, it is necessary to have a Strop and Strop Paste with which to sharpen the blade. Strops have two sides: one is linen and the other is leather. The linen side warms up the blade and softens the steel so it can be sharpened. The leather side sharpens and smooths out the blade. Strop the blade for approximately 30 seconds on each side before shaving. |

The modern gentleman notices the little things, and there is plenty to notice about our Signature Gift Wrap. The paper is a custom-printed navy beaded pinstripe pattern evocative of a classic men's suit fabric. The white satin ribbon is tied in a square knot. But we think it's the enclosure card sealed with hot wax that shows we put as much care into the gift presentation as you put into its selection.
