A W Tillinghast Sculpture |
A.W. Tillinghast was known for his perceptive eye and uncanny intuition, it was not uncommon to find him tromping through the brush in a three-piece suit during the early stages of course design and construction. He was very much a hands-on architect who liked to make his designs ?in the dirt.? relying on the inspiration of the moment to fashion the details of each hole as it emerged from the landscape. Once completed, his courses were strategic gems that provided an excellent test of shot making. His designs include Baltusrol, Winged Foot, San Francisco Golf Club and the Bethpage layout, home to the 2002 United States Open.
Golf Links to the Past and renowned sculpture Ron Tunison are proud to offer this striking likeness of A.W. Tillinghast in a cold-cast edition of 350. Each sculpture is 18" tall and is mounted on a solid walnut base. |

The modern gentleman notices the little things, and there is plenty to notice about our Signature Gift Wrap. The paper is a custom-printed navy beaded pinstripe pattern evocative of a classic men's suit fabric. The white satin ribbon is tied in a square knot. But we think it's the enclosure card sealed with hot wax that shows we put as much care into the gift presentation as you put into its selection.
