Recession's End Awaits Your Underwear Purchase
We don't do a lot of underwear business on our website, and we do even less out of our store, so gauging the health of the national economy on the number of "multi-pair packs" of underwear that men are buying from us is a little tough.
For those that love journalism at the intersection of macroeconomics & men's undergarments, today's Washington Post dedicates an entire article to the notion that, in times when people are tightening their belts, they postpone new underwear purchases [the mixed metaphor was intentional].
I admit, I'm cynical. I'm cynical mainly because, in times like these, people try to get more out of everything - underwear, shirts, pants, their gas tank, leftovers, coffee grounds (ok, that last one is really Depression-era and we hope no one is really doing that).
So, in brief, I'd just as soon assume that Big Underpants has unleashed a PR offensive to spur sales of their products, and...not to leave you hanging...that's something I can't support.
