Father's Day Gifts for a President: Part II
What do you get the father who has everything? That is the $250,000,000 question (Gov. Romney's estimated net worth) as we consider some Father's Day gift ideas for the wealthiest candidate for President: Republican Mitt Romney.
If you're enough of a news junkie to be following the campaigns closely despite the fact that the election is not for another 18 months, you know that Governor Romney's challenge has been demonstrating that he is truly a conservative. After all, he was Governor of one of the "bluest" states in the country -- Massachusetts. Just getting him a red power tie might be a start.
Evidently, one of the easiest ways to prove your Republican bona fides is to demonstrate mastery in firing weapons (see entry for Dick Cheney). Since every conservative must hunt, Romney attempted to claim he has been a "lifelong hunter". Turns out that's not 100% true, but high-end hunting accessories like Shot Gun Shell Cufflinks or anything from Mulholland Brothers' Field Sport line. The leather Shot Shell Carrier would be perfect for "varmint hunting".
The best gift for Romney? Bespoke Stationery with a hunting motif -- it's where Northeastern prep meets Heartland red meat.
Tomorrow we'll contemplate Father's Day gifts for John Edwards. Hint: more than one grooming product will be recommended.
