Sherlock Holmes opened today starring Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, and Rachel McAdams. While you'd think people would be spending the day with family, the showing we went to sold out (but not before we Fandangoed). 

What to say? Just as Bond movies make me want to be a spy, and Iron Man made me want to be a wealthy military-industrialist, today I want to be a super-perceptive detective in 19th Century Britain capable of beating any man in a fist fight. Readers of this blog will not be disappointed by the costuming, the repartee, and the complexity of the mystery.

The only complaint from me would be that the movie was probably 20 minutes too long. I'm not sure what I would cut, but it is long and feels long.

Nevertheless, well worth the $10 and 150 minutes.

Our San Francisco store will be closing today at 2pm, and will remain closed through the weekend. We will reopen on Monday, December 28th at 10am. 

During the week of the new year, we will close early on Thursday, December 31st and remain closed through the weekend, reopening on Monday, January 4th at 10am.

Forgive me - it's our busiest week of the year - if this came out days or weeks ago, but we're already marking our calendar for May 7th when Iron Man 2 opens. You can view the trailer here. 

It prompted us to buy the original for the store's Apple TV (which is a GIGANTIC waste of money by the way), so it will be playing in the store all day!

I wish I had more time to ponder the various trends mentioned in this article and forwarded to me by a dozen friends, but since it's our busiest week of the year, I will just post the link to the New York Times article today about the impact "Mad Men" has had on men's fashion trends of late.
